True North is a Selene 43 Trawler made by Jet Tern in mainland China.
I was able to travel to the factory twice while True North was being built and thoroughly enjoyed meeting many of the dedicated men and women who build these incredible boats.
Howard Chen is the founder of this endeavor and has created a team that is distinguished by their dedication to building a quality product.
Jet Tern Marine (the manfacturer of Selene Yachts) is HQ in Taiwan, with manufacturing facilities in Houjie, Dong Guan, Canton, China. The ship yard is about 2 hours by bus from Hong Kong International Airport or about 1.5 hours high speed ferry from HK International airport.

Howard Chen, founder of Jet Tern Marine is a 1983 graduate of the Taiwan National Cheng Kung University with a Bachelor's Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. After serving in the R.O.C. army and working as an engineer at another yacht design firm, Howard established Jet Tern Marine in 1998. The first Selene Trawler arrived in the US in 1999. Since then over 250 Selenes have been sold worldwide.
Our boat was assigned the production number 4326 - the 26th Selene 43 to be built.
